Who We Are
“To glorify God by loving Him and all people through obedience to His Word.”
Up. In. Out.
We are disciples who continually move upward to conform into the image of Christ.
We are family who continually move inward to connect as a community of disciples.
We are sent ones who continually move outward to connect to culture to make disciples.
May we journey toward becoming a family of disciples of Jesus sent to show and share His love to all people in the everyday rhythms of life.
The following shaping values are the principles we stand for and the characteristics that define us:
We submit our lives to the authority of God’s Word.
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16, 17
We believe that God accomplishes His will through our prayers.
“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:15, 16
We commit ourselves to pursue authentic community.
“And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:37-40
“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.“ Colossians 3:12-14
We pursue deeper holiness in everyday living.
“Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.” 1 Peter 2:12
“As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:14-16
We are faithful to communicate in word and action that salvation is found in Christ alone.
“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
We give generously and faithfully of our financial resources, gifts and time.
“Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.” Proverbs 3:9, 10
“Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:6, 7
